Ernst & Young Ordered To Turn Over Vivendi Audits

Law360, New York (May 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As part of the ongoing securities litigation against Vivendi, a judge has ordered Ernst & Young LLP to compel several documents relating to audits it performed for the French entertainment firm, despite its objections that doing so would violate French professional secrecy statutes.

Judge Richard J. Holwell of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied Ernst & Young's objections on Wednesday, upholding the magistrate judge's order compelling the auditor to turn over the documents.
