Ore. Legislature OKs Calorie-Posting Rules For Chains

Law360, New York (June 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Taking a page from Massachusetts, California and a handful of cities, the Oregon Legislature has adopted a measure that would require chain restaurants to display nutritional information, as more and more places try to curb the obesity epidemic currently raging in the U.S.

Oregon lawmakers signed off Monday on the calorie count bill, ignoring pleas from the restaurant industry and several lawmakers that the legislation be killed.
