Under Armour Hit With Suit Over MyFitnessPal Data Breach

Law360 (May 15, 2018, 7:33 PM EDT) -- Under Armour Inc. is facing a putative class action in California federal court by a user of its MyFitnessPal food and nutrition app claiming the company is liable for the theft of personal information from her and millions of others in a data breach earlier this year.

In a suit filed in California state court in April and removed to federal court by Under Armor on Tuesday, Rebecca Murray claimed Under Armor failed to take sufficient steps to protect her personal information and the personal information of the approximately 150 million other app users she is seeking to represent.
