J&J Secretly Funded Talc Study, Atty Claims

Law360 (June 12, 2018, 11:05 PM EDT) -- Johnson & Johnson secretly funded research that found talcum powder does not cause ovarian cancer through the law firm of Crowell & Moring LLP, an attorney for 22 women suing the pharma conglomerate told a St. Louis jury Tuesday.

Mark Lanier, representing the women and their surviving kin who say J&J talcum powder gave them ovarian cancer, used much of his time Tuesday to show the jury an hourslong videotaped deposition of J&J Chief Medical Officer Joanne Waldstreicher.
