Attys Must Face Malpractice Row Over $32M Award In Ill. Court

Law360 (June 13, 2018, 5:18 PM EDT) -- An Illinois trucking company suing its former lawyers after getting hit with a $32 million jury verdict in a personal injury case can keep its malpractice case in its home-state court, a federal judge in Chicago said Tuesday.

In an order granting a remand request from Dillon Transport and owner Jeff Dillon, the court said defendant-attorney Larry Warren of San Antonio-based Naman Howell Smith & Lee PLLC had not established that his old client fraudulently included a Chicago firm in the suit.
