Jones Day Atty Accused Of Botching Chem Co. Merger Fee

Law360 (June 22, 2018, 11:03 PM EDT) -- Bad advice from a Jones Day antitrust lawyer led to a Canadian chemical company getting embroiled in tit-for-tat lawsuits over a multimillion-dollar corporate deal fee that it may have to pay, according to a recent malpractice suit the company filed in Illinois court.

Chemtrade Electrochem Inc., a successor to Calgary-based Canexus Corp., said in a complaint filed Wednesday that Jones Day partner Pamela Taylor in Chicago was negligent in her work three years ago for Canexus as it mulled a sale to Superior Plus Corp....
