'Shaky' Evidence Of Roundup-Cancer Link Admissible At Trial

Law360 (July 10, 2018, 9:11 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge Tuesday rejected Monsanto Co.’s bid to block multidistrict litigation alleging the company’s Roundup weed killer causes cancer and said he’d permit three of the consumer plaintiffs’ experts to testify in the case, concluding their opinions, "while shaky, are admissible."

The decision by U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria to deny Monsanto’s motion to exclude the evidence and get a summary judgment in the case — based on a failure to present “general causation proof — moves forward litigation involving hundreds of lawsuits.
