Soccer Games In Protected Pinelands Get NJ Court's OK

Law360 (July 12, 2018, 5:33 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey appeals court on Thursday ruled against a pair of environmental groups challenging the approval of organized soccer tournaments on a sod farm in the state's protected Pinelands region, saying a 2016 amendment to the law that governs the use of the Pinelands invalidates their arguments.

A three-judge panel affirmed a trio of approvals by the Pinelands Commission related to development applications by Tuckahoe Turf Farm Inc., the operator of a sod farm that came under fire from the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and NJ Conservation Foundation for holding soccer tournaments on its land in Atlantic and Camden Counties....
