Monitronics Seeks Coverage In $28M Robocall Settlement
Law360 (August 8, 2018, 1:44 PM EDT) -- A home security company has sued its insurers in Texas federal court, claiming they refused to honor their agreements and indemnify the company for a $28 million settlement in multidistrict litigation that accused the company of making calls to numbers listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.
Monitronics International Inc. told the Northern District of Texas on Tuesday that Everest Indemnity Insurance Co., Navigators Specialty Insurance Co. and Axis Surplus Insurance Co. were in breach of their insurance policies when they refused to cover Monitronics after it settled the MDL.
