TV Networks Win Bid To Unseal Madoff Victims' E-Mails

Law360, New York (June 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- NBC Universal Inc., ABC Inc. and Fox News Network LLC have secured access to the personal information of scores of alleged victims who sent e-mails to the U.S. Attorney's Office describing how Bernard L. Madoff's $65 billion Ponzi scheme affected them.

Given the high-profile nature of the case, U.S. District Judge Denny Chin of the Southern District of New York decided Wednesday that the individuals had had sufficient opportunity to object to the disclosure of their names and contact information.
