States Seek Alliance With Feds On AIG Bonus Probe

Law360, New York (June 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Eleven states have asked the special inspector general overseeing the Troubled Asset Relief Program how they can help in an investigation into bonuses made to executives at American International Group Inc.'s financial products unit after the insurance giant received $180 billion in taxpayer dollars to stave off its collapse.

New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram sent Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky a letter on Friday, signed by 10 other state attorneys general, saying that she wanted to meet with him to talk about how state regulators...
