Another Judge Rules Against Maker Of DVD-Copying Software

Law360 (March 5, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge in New York has ordered 321 Studios Inc. to stop making and marketing DVD-copying software that violates the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, echoing an earlier decision by a California court.

U.S. District Judge Richard Owen issued his injunction late Wednesday at the request of Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox.

However, 321 Studios Inc., said it already had shipped retooled versions of the software to comply with the California ruling Feb. 20.
