Ill. Firm Impersonated Rival Online To Steal Clients: Suit

Law360 (August 24, 2018, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Illinois law firm Motta & Motta LLC hit Dolci & Weiland with a lawsuit in Illinois federal court Friday, claiming the rival law firm induced a Motta employee to redirect potential clients' calls to its own offices and mimicked its website to confuse and steal Motta's customers.

In a seven-count complaint, Motta and firm partners, Alison and Robert Motta, claim Lawyers 777 LLC — which does business as Dolci & Weiland — spent months conspiring to figure out a way to redirect prospective clients and website traffic to its own site, causing Motta to lose millions in business.
