Countering FCC, Calif. Lawmakers Pass Net Neutrality Law

Law360 (August 31, 2018, 10:07 PM EDT) -- The California State Legislature passed what is considered the nation's toughest so-called net neutrality law on Friday, sending the bill to Gov. Jerry Brown's desk in hopes that a signature will restore consumer protections that the Federal Communications Commission revoked in December.

According to a tweet Friday afternoon by bill sponsor Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, the law's implementation would "ensure that California protects full access to the internet."
