FedEx Inks $13M Deal To Settle ERISA Claims In Drivers' MDL

By Danielle Nichole Smith (September 6, 2018, 5:31 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge has given a green light to a $13.3 million settlement by FedEx Ground Package Systems Inc. that would resolve Employee Retirement Income Security Act claims in multidistrict litigation over the company's alleged misclassification of its drivers as independent contractors rather than employees.

U.S. District Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. preliminarily approved the deal on Wednesday, holding that its terms were fair and reasonable.
