Class Claims Over Hyundai Subframes Pared Down

Law360, New York (June 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge overseeing a putative class action against Hyundai Motor Co. over allegedly defective sub-frames on Sonata automobiles dismissed five of the plaintiff’s six claims with leave to amend, but gave a green light to a claim brought under California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act.

Judge Andrew J. Guilford of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California handed down an order granting in part and denying in part Hyundai’s bid to dismiss Nicholas Cirulli’s third amended complaint.
