Calif. IPhone Users Win Cert. In 'Broken' FaceTime Suit

Law360 (September 19, 2018, 5:57 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge Tuesday certified a class of California consumers claiming that Apple Inc. "broke" its FaceTime service on iPhones using older operating systems, but declined to certify a nationwide class because the laws in question differ from state to state.

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh certified a class of Californians who own Apple iPhone 4 or Apple iPhone 4S devices and who, in April 2014, had iOS 6 or earlier operating systems on those devices.
