Google Books Antitrust Probe Officially Under Way

Law360, New York (July 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has informed a judge overseeing the final stages of Google Inc.'s proposed virtual library deal with publishers and authors that the agency has launched an official antitrust inquiry into the slated settlement, saying it needs more time to evaluate the deal's potential impact on competition.
