Sens. Set Meeting To Talk Revamp Of Patent Eligibility Law

By Ryan Davis (December 5, 2018, 8:13 PM EST) -- Two U.S. senators have invited dozens of major companies, industry groups and prominent intellectual property experts to a closed-door meeting next week to discuss possible legislation to rewrite the law governing patent eligibility.

Sens. Chris Coons, D-Del., and Thom Tillis, R-N.C., sent invitations for the Dec. 12 roundtable to companies like Google LLC, drug industry groups like the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and many others with divergent views on patent eligibility, people who received invitations told Law360 Wednesday.
