Law360 (December 14, 2018, 9:40 PM EST) -- While it's unclear whether a recent argument made by the rapper Jay-Z relating to an alleged lack of diversity among available arbitrators would have ultimately prevailed, experts say the mogul has shone a 10,000-watt spotlight on a long-standing issue within arbitration.
Jay-Z had asked a New York state court late last month to temporarily halt an arbitration before the American Arbitration Association over a contract dispute with Iconix Brand Group Inc., which purchased the rapper's clothing line more than a decade ago.
