Join Suits Over HIV Drugs In Calif., Patients Urge JPML

By Dani Kass (December 20, 2018, 8:57 PM EST) -- Patients accusing Gilead Sciences Inc. of hiding that its HIV drugs are toxic to users' kidneys and bones on Wednesday asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate five related suits and send them to the Northern District of California.

The suits filed between July and November have some 150 plaintiffs between them, with all but a handful participating in the one based in San Francisco. The others are spread between Los Angeles, Louisiana and Washington, D.C.
