Olympian Maroney Stays Nassar Case For USAG's Ch. 11

By Ryan Boysen (January 3, 2019, 4:06 PM EST) -- Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast McKayla Maroney has agreed to put her sexual abuse suit against USA Gymnastics on hold for two months while the parties sort through the legal ramifications of the organization's December bankruptcy filing, according to a stipulation entered Wednesday.

Maroney claims she was abused "hundreds" of times by the now infamous Dr. Larry Nassar on USAG's watch and was then forced into a 2016 confidentiality agreement by USAG.

The suit also names Michigan State University, where Nassar worked, the U.S. Olympic Committee and Nassar as defendants, but Maroney said in Wednesday's filing the automatic stay created by USAG's...
