Suit Alleges Chinese Refractory Bauxite Conspiracy

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 5:06 PM EDT) -- Two China-based defendants have engaged in a conspiracy to fix and inflate the price of refractory-grade bauxite sold to a U.S.-based metal refining services company and other purchasers, an amended proposed class action alleges.

According to refractory supplier Resco Products Inc.'s lawsuit, amended Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, defendants Bosai Minerals Group Co. Ltd. and CMP Tianjin Co. Ltd. have established an illegal, ongoing cartel that deliberately targets American consumers.
