Insurer Sues Calif. Construction Co. Over Numerous Bonds

By John Kennedy (January 24, 2019, 10:12 PM EST) -- A Los Angeles construction company could owe Allied World Insurance Co. millions of dollars in connection with a number of projects in Southern California, the insurer said in a Wednesday complaint.

California Averland Construction Inc. and two individuals, Connie and Joseph Son Byn Kim, were required to cover any losses Allied incurred in connection with bonds issued for the projects, but haven't adequately done so, the insurer said. Allied didn't specify the full amount of money it could be seeking, but it said that it had paid nearly $700,000 in losses and that the Kims had not fulfilled the insurer's request...
