StarKist Settles Walmart's Tuna Price-Fixing Claims For $20M

Law360 (January 25, 2019, 11:24 PM EST) -- StarKist Co. announced Friday that it has agreed to a settlement worth more than $20 million with Walmart Inc. to resolve allegations of a widespread tuna price-fixing conspiracy that have been the focus of multidistrict litigation in California federal court.

StarKist declined to provide details of the proposed agreement beyond those included in a Friday statement, which said the deal would clear up "all antitrust claims brought by the retailer" through "a combination of cash payment and certain favorable commercial terms" valued at $20.5 million.
