BP Charged Again With Propane Price Manipulation

Law360, New York (October 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- New Hampshire-based Patten’s Gas has become the latest company to sue British Petroleum Products North America Inc. for allegedly manipulating and monopolizing the propane market.

In the proposed class action filed Sept. 29, Patten’s Gas, otherwise known as Parke J. Patten Inc., accused BP of artificially inflating prices by gaining control of nearly 90% of the TET propane market in 2004.

This came a year after the oil giant first tried to manipulate the price of TET propane in April 2003, according to the complaint....
