Telecom Says Antitrust Suit Belongs In Texas With Patent War

Law360 (February 7, 2019, 4:21 PM EST) -- A company that revamps old phone landlines said a rival telecom's decision to lodge its antitrust claims in Manhattan was a result of "classic forum shopping" and pushed a federal judge to punt the case to Texas federal court where the competitors have hashed out patent disputes for years.

Ribbon Communications Inc. told a New York federal court that allegations it used sham patent litigation to run rival Metaswitch Networks Ltd. out of business should be sorted out in the Eastern District of Texas, where three of Ribbon's patent cases are still underway.
