Telecom Says Texas Already Downed Rival's Antitrust Claims

Law360 (February 12, 2019, 6:14 PM EST) -- A telecom battling allegations it lodged a series of sham patent suits to damage a rival in the market for upgrading phone landlines told a New York federal court Monday the suit must be tossed because the same claims have already been hashed out amid the competitors' ongoing patent war in Texas.

Ribbon Communications Inc. pushed for the dismissal of Metaswitch Networks Ltd.'s antitrust allegations just a few days after asking the court to punt the case over to the Eastern District of Texas where the telecoms' five-year-old patent battle is centered.
