Iron Bar Maker Ex-Worker Wants New Trade Secret Theft Trial

Law360 (February 28, 2019, 7:13 PM EST) -- A longtime employee of the nation's leading continuous cast iron bar manufacturer signaled Wednesday that he will seek a new trial after an Illinois federal jury found him guilty of stealing company trade secrets before leaving for a Chinese competitor.

Robert O'Rourke, who a jury found stole trade secrets from Woodstock, Ill.-based Dura Bar, asked U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood for two extra weeks to file his anticipated motion for a new trial, which would extend his deadline for the filing to March 25.
