Consumers Claim Dell Notebooks Have Design Defect

Law360, New York (July 28, 2009, 1:58 PM EDT) -- Consumers claim in a new proposed class action that Dell Inc.’s line of Inspiron 600m notebook computers have a design defect that causes the computers to overheat and overload its motherboard.

New Jersey resident Raheel Khan filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, claiming that a major design flaw causes the computers to overheat and operate at much slower speeds.

Khan said the computers, which were sold from 2003 to 2006, overheat after as little as 15 minutes...
