Timberlake, Execs Escape Bai 'All-Natural' Mislabeling Suit

Law360 (March 8, 2019, 3:03 PM EST) -- A California federal judge has let singer Justin Timberlake out of a mislabeling suit targeting drinkmaker Bai Brands LLC on jurisdictional grounds, while also finding federal rules do not require Bai to list its ingredients by their full scientific names.

In an order issued Thursday, U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez partially dismissed California resident and proposed class leader Kevin Branca's claims, finding Bai investor Timberlake and the two individual executives named in the suit are not California residents themselves and therefore are out of his jurisdiction and that Branca had failed to show the ingredient lists on Bai drinks broke U.S....
