Michael Avenatti Charged With $20M Nike Extortion Scheme

Law360, New York (March 25, 2019, 1:34 PM EDT) -- Michael Avenatti appeared in a Manhattan federal court Monday afternoon, hours after being arrested and charged by federal prosecutors over an alleged plot to extort more than $20 million from Nike in exchange for keeping quiet about allegations of misconduct by certain employees of the sportswear company.
