3rd Roundup Trial Begins Day After $80M Monsanto Loss

Law360, Oakland, Calif. (March 28, 2019, 10:24 PM EDT) -- A day after a California federal jury hit Monsanto with an $80 million verdict for failing to warn that Roundup could cause cancer, another Golden State jury heard opening statements alleging that decades of spraying the weedkiller caused a married couple's aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

During the start of the third trial of its kind, Brent Wisner of Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman PC told a 16-member jury that Monsanto never warned his clients Alva and Alberta Pilliod about Roundup's cancer risks.
