Dish Wins $6M From Streaming Co. It Says Stole UFC Fight
Law360 (April 3, 2019, 7:02 PM EDT) -- Dish Network has won a nearly $6 million default judgment against a subscription-based streaming service the satellite company accused of accessing its channels without permission, according to California federal court filings.
U.S. District Judge George H. Wu handed down the order Monday, giving Dish Network LLC a win in its suit against TVizion LLC and blocking the company from cribbing Dish's channels in the future.
The order awards Dish $5.96 million in statutory damages and also binds multilevel marketing company 247 Smart Life LLC, which markets TVizion's streaming service, as well as the head of both companies, Ferras Jim Pshehalouk....
