Indiana Becomes 10th State To Tax, Regulate Sports Betting

Law360 (May 10, 2019, 6:09 PM EDT) -- A five-month quest to expand and update gambling laws in Indiana succeeded Wednesday as newly signed legislation made the state the 10th jurisdiction to tax and regulate sports betting, which was cleared by the U.S. Supreme Court one year ago.

In signing H.B. 1015 into law, Indiana Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb cleared the way for sports wagering at riverboats, racinos, certain casinos and satellite facilities, and for a sports wagering tax of 9.5% of adjusted gross receipts.
