Abbott Sues Centocor Over Psoriasis Drug Patents

Law360, New York (August 11, 2009, 12:05 PM EDT) -- Health care giant Abbott GmbH & Co. KG is suing Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc., a pharmaceutical subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, for allegedly infringing two patents for antibodies that treat psoriasis, a skin condition.

The suit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, comes after the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences upheld Abbott's rights to one of the psoriasis patents last week.
