Boeing To Pay $2M To Settle Whistleblower Claims

Law360, New York (August 11, 2009, 10:34 PM EDT) -- The Boeing Co. has reportedly agreed to pay $2 million to the U.S. Department of Justice to settle a whistleblower's claims Boeing systematically overcharged the government for maintenance on U.S. Air Force planes.

Edward Quintana, a former machinist at Boeing, filed a qui tam lawsuit in 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, but the case remained under seal while the DOJ investigated the allegations that the aerospace company regularly swindled taxpayers, the San Antonio Express News reported Tuesday.
