Kentucky Rep. Slams House Bid To Block Border Wall Funds

Law360 (May 15, 2019, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A Republican congressman from Kentucky urged a D.C. federal court on Tuesday not to block funding for President Donald Trump’s long-promised border wall, siding with the Trump administration as it battles back a legal challenge from the Democrat-led House of Representatives.

In a friend-of-the-court brief, Rep. Andy Barr argued that the court does not have the authority to grant the House’s preliminary injunction motion, which had asked the court to temporarily stop the planned transfer of money from the U.S. Department of Defense to fund a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border under President Trump’s emergency declaration.
