Ligado Says FCC Must Trigger Deadline For 5G Network

Law360 (June 25, 2019, 3:28 PM EDT) -- Satellite company Ligado Networks made a fresh appeal Tuesday for the Federal Communications Commission to greenlight its planned 5G network, prodding the agency to take action under a section of its rules that forces it to move within a year.

At this point, Ligado has been waiting more than three years for the FCC to grant a technical change known as a license modification so it can use satellite rites to offer next-generation wireless connections, and the company said its plans have been delayed long enough.
