Nutracoastal Recalls, Stops Distributing ‘Steam’

Law360, New York (August 24, 2009, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Supplement distributor Nutracoastal Trading LLC has expanded its recall of the dietary drug Steam for containing tadalafil, an ingredient used in drugs to treat erectile dysfunction, and closed down its dietary supplement distribution operation, the FDA has announced.

The recall serves as the latest in a trend of diet drugs recalled for containing ED-related ingredients.

Tadalafil, found in Eli Lilly & Co.'s ED drug Cialis, was not listed on Steam's label, the FDA said in a news release Monday, making Steam an unapproved drug.
