Trump Org. Lawyer Says Manhattan DA Probe Is A 'Hit Job'

Law360 (August 1, 2019, 10:38 PM EDT) -- A lawyer for the Trump Organization complained Thursday of a "political hit job" amid reports New York state prosecutors subpoenaed the president's family business regarding a hush payment to an adult film actress who'd purportedly had a sexual encounter with the future president.

Responding to media reports that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance had subpoenaed the Trump Organization, Marc Mukasey of Mukasey Frenchman & Sklaroff LLP provided Law360 with a statement that questioned the motivation behind the probe.

"This is a political hit job," Mukasey said. "It's just harassment of the President, his family, and his business, using subpoenas as weapons....
