Spectrum Exits Ch. 11 With $840M Less In Debt

Law360, New York (August 28, 2009, 1:54 PM EDT) -- Spectrum Brands Inc., the Atlanta-based purveyor of such products as Rayovac batteries, Remington shavers and Cutter insect repellent, blasted out of Chapter 11 Friday with a significantly reduced debt load.

The company and its domestic subsidiaries officially concluded their reorganization, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas, after meeting all closing conditions to the company's plan of reorganization, Spectrum's CEO Kent Hussey said.
