DJ Star's Contract Claims Against Clear Channel Nixed

Law360, New York (September 3, 2009, 5:43 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out breach of contract claims brought by popular former disc jockey Troi Torain, also known as DJ Star, against radio giant Clear Channel Broadcasting Inc., which fired him for making lewd comments during his radio show.

Judge Peter K. Leisure of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday granted Clear Channel's motion seeking dismissal of Torain's claims, noting many times the “crass” and “explicit” nature of the precipitating comments.
