Liberty Tries To Revive $1B AIG Workers' Comp Suit

Law360, New York (September 3, 2009, 3:24 PM EDT) -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. is seeking to revive a lawsuit against American International Group Inc. and its affiliated companies for allegedly underreporting workers' compensation insurance premiums, asking a federal judge to appoint it the main plaintiff in the case.

Liberty filed a new complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging claims similar to those in the original complaint, filed in 2007, which said AIG's underreporting caused $1 billion in damages.
