Turf Co. CEO Seeks Sanctions For $20M Fraud Suit

Law360 (November 7, 2019, 9:45 PM EST) -- The CEO of an artificial turf supplier said Wednesday that the man suing him over an allegedly forged contract knows his claims are bunk and only filed the suit because he was "angry, embarrassed and seeking to save face" after losing big on an investment.

Sid Nicholls, the chief executive of Turf Nation, asked an Illinois federal judge to sanction David Diamond and his attorneys for filing a frivolous $20 million fraud suit that claims Nicholls helped his son, Mark Nicholls,  fabricate supply agreements that induced Diamond to invest in the son's company, Turf Industry Holdings LLC.
