Chinese Electronics Cos. Win Pause On CRT Case For Appeal

Law360 (February 5, 2020, 6:16 PM EST) -- A California federal judge has paused a cathode ray tube price-fixing case against a pair of Chinese electronics companies while they appeal a decision to the Ninth Circuit finding that they cannot claim sovereign immunity.

U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar issued an order Tuesday staying the case against Irico Group Corp. and Irico Display Devices Co. that is being brought by two groups of CRT purchasers. The buyers said the companies should not be able to pause the case while they appeal the court's denial of their dismissal bid because it took them too long to raise their sovereign immunity...
