Sharp Hits Vizio With Patent Claims Over LCD TV Tech

Law360 (March 11, 2020, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Sharp Corp. filed a suit Tuesday in California federal court against rival television maker Vizio Inc. and a collection of companies that help produce Vizio TVs, claiming they are infringing a dozen patents that protect Sharp's LCD technologies.

Sharp said in a suit filed Tuesday that it's being hurt by the conduct of California-based Vizio, which is selling allegedly infringing TVs that are produced by China's CaiHong Optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd., as well as a group of related companies that, according to Sharp, constitutes "one of the world's largest manufacturers of televisions."
