High Court Takes Black Firefighters' Title VII Case

Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 3:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to hear a challenge to an appeals court's decision that Title VII claims brought by black plaintiffs who sued Chicago after unsuccessfully applying for jobs as firefighters were time-barred because the plaintiffs filed charges with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission too late.
