Mitsubishi Paint Peeling Settlement Gets Initial OK

Law360, New York (October 12, 2009, 6:28 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has signed off on a proposed class settlement between Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. and customers who bought three of the company's car models in black, which allegedly have paint that tends to peel, fade and become discolored.

Judge James V. Selna of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California gave preliminary approval Friday to the settlement, which covers those who currently own or lease a black 2000 to 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor, Eclipse or Galant made in the United States....
