Biotech Cos. Flood Public Markets With IPOs Over $900M
By Tom Zanki (June 12, 2020, 6:05 PM EDT) -- Four biotechnology companies went public on Friday under the guidance of nine law firms, overcoming market turbulence to raise $932 million in mostly upsized initial public offerings that priced at peak range or better.
The newly minted public companies include a startup vaccine developer, a gene therapy company, a maker of muscle disease treatments and a Chinese cancer test provider. Nine law firms total worked on the deals when counting representation of issuers and underwriters from all jurisdictions. Cooley LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP led all firms, working on two deals each.
